Magic, Mystery and Mayhem! LeLatte (pronounced [ˈle latt-tay]) is the fantasy tale of the strangest dark elf that anyone in the kingdom of Tysus has ever met. A chance encounter with this bizarre sorceress sends Farris, a soldier and emissary of the Fey Alliance, on a dangerous journey that he will never forget - providing he can find the patience to deal with LeLatte's ridiculous behaviour of course!

Issue Zero - Available at London MCM Comic Con!

It's been a bit quiet on the LeLatte social media pages lately, that's mainly because both myself and Nina have been busy getting everything ready for a big milestone for our little-comic.

Today we're very excited to announce that "LeLatte - Issue Zero" will be on-sale at the London MCM Comic Con on May 24th-26th at the ExCel centre in London!

Nina will be part of the Comic Village along with her group Windflower Studio and will be selling this full-colour, 44 page issue that contains th entire prologue chapter of LeLatte.

We'll be sharing more details as the con get's closer, but one thing to mention is that anyone who buys the comic at the expo will get a sneak peak ahead of the weekly schedule.

We're also going to look into selling any remaining copies online, and at taking pre-orders for a second print run after the show.

We hope you'll come along to the Expo (if you can!) and share this great news.

We're really excited to publish LeLatte in print, as we're both big comic fans and we hope that Issue Zero will look just at home amongst your other comics.

Take care and thanks for supporting!

All the best,
Mark & Nina

Ratings & Teases

Hi everybody, Mark here with a little update for you.

After months of hair-pulling frustration I finally managed to get our ratings system working for our comic pages (thanks to some nice support from the SmackJeeves team!).

At the top of every page you can now give us 0-5 hearts for each page. So please use it to let us know if you really enjoyed (or didn't enjoy) a particular page!

I've also tidied up a few links and some bits and bobs around the site, just to make things a little clearer for you! :)

In other news!

This week, Nina and I got to see our lovely friends at http://www.gametee.co.uk/ to show us some of their amazing t-shirts, prints and mugs.

The quality of their stuff is incredible and comes in gorgeous packaging that would fit right into a high-class fashion retail store. We were also blown away by two super cute gifts they brought us in the form of these prototype mugs!

Prototypes?! You may ask yourself. Will these be on sale?! Ohohoho, you will have to wait and see my friends. Wait and see!

That's all for now folks, new page will be up at 8pm GMT on Friday as usual!

Take care and thanks for all the unicorns.

Future Excitement & Livestreams!

Page 14 came out today and it brings us to a big turning point in the Prologue. I can't wait to see what you guys think of the stuff to come!

A little bit of news for you...

We're hoping to have some really big news for you at the end of March/beginning of April. Myself and Nina have been making some big plans for the end of the Prologue and the upcoming London MCM Comic Con in May. So stay tuned for more information on that!

Also, a few weeks ago Nina ran an awesome livestream on Twitch.TV which went down really well! We had a fun time answering questions and chatting to folks whilst Nina drew a Yogscast wallpaper for her Tumblr.

If we run any in the future, make sure you follow Nina on her Tumblr, Twitter and the LeLatte Twitter account!

Thanks everybody!

Influences, Fanart & More!

Hey everybody!

It's been a few weeks since our original launch and we've been absolutely delighted with all the support and excitement for the comic! We've received so many lovely comments here on the site, as well as on our Twitter account and Nina's DeviantArt and Tumblr that we just wanted to say a big Thank You! to everybody who has commented, shared, or tweeted at us in support!

And we've not just received lovely comments, but some lovely art as well!

Check out this adorable art of our leading lady by the excellent Reiu-Shanra on her DeviantArt Page:

Now, rather than just post a usual "OMG new update!" news post I thought I might dip into some of the influences behind the character of LeLatte herself.

Like a lot of fantasy stories it begins on a misty night. A group of weary heroes are sat around a worn, oak table talking in hushed tones over wine and ale as they play... a tabletop RPG.

Now Nina had never played a sit-round-the-table-and-roll-dice RPG before, so when I was putting a game together for myself and some mutual geeky friends, we talked about her joining in and trying it out. Before the new campaign started, we got together and made her first character to play with.

LeLatte is based on that first RPG character Nina made. A unicorn obsessed Dark Elf, who spread smiles and sparkles but was also a little naive. Being the sometimes-too-serious fantasy nerd that I am, I tried to explain that Dark Elves (in most settings) were quite cruel and usually "bad guys" and not normally "nice and cheerful", but this was only met with adamant stares and "Well why can't my one be different?" responses. So we sat down and together worked out a backstory that explained the reasoning behind her unusual behaviour and attitude, as well as the reason for her to be out adventuring.

The background that we came up with then is still a big part of the character today, with changes made to help her fit into the world we're created and the overall story we have planned. We're both quite happy with it, as it makes her a little different to the norm without being too cheesy or cliche.

If you're curious as to what our pink-haired heroine's backstory is by the way... Well, you're going to get a good glimpse into it during this prologue! So make sure you stay updated!

One last fun fact about LeLatte is that she takes some inspiration from the character "Dee Dee" in the Cartoon Network series Dexter's Lab. If I can squeeze a "Oooo what does *this* button do?" line into the comic somehow... I will!

Anyway, Page 8 is out today and you can check it out by clicking the "Read the latest page link" at the top of the site!

I hope you enjoy it and if you have any more fanart, comments, or anything you want to share please feel free to send it to us either via a comment, our email, or on our Twitter account (click the funny dragon-thing chewing on the Twitter icon) @lelattecomic.

Thanks!

LeLatte- Prologue (It's finally here!)

So, on behalf of Nina and myself, I would like to thank you all for checking out our new webcomic LeLatte!

This has been a project we've both been working on/thinking about for a few years now, but due to various work commitments we've never been able to truly focus on getting it launched and live.

LeLatte was a character Nina created several years ago; a happy-go-lucky and cheerful Dark Elf who loves unicorns and "sparkles". At first the serious Fantasy fan in me rolled his eyes at this pink-haired abomination, but as we've mapped out a backstory and crafted a world around her; I've found a soft spot in my d20 shaped heart for her.

Over the last few years we've gone through several character re-designs, script re-writes and a lot of brainstorming. But we got there and now we're both happy with our respective areas!

The prologue is the first little "arc" of the comic and mainly focuses on LeLatte herself, but soon we're going to meet more characters (both allies and enemies) as her adventure's really begin.

We hope you enjoy these first *five* pages and come back every Friday for more!

Thanks again everybody!
~Mark
